US Youth Soccer and etrainu are excited to announce the launch of our latest course, Introduction to Officiating.
Referees have to interact with a variety of people, including players, coaches, and other officials. To do so, they must have unique skills and insights into the game.
The new course will provide new officials or people interested in becoming an official with the key skills and knowledge they need to become successful referees. It will be part of the USYS University’s premium course offerings and will take roughly 20 minutes to complete.
Referees are also a crucial part of the game: they uphold the Laws of the Game and ensure the smooth flow of the game. So, it’s important for new officials to have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
Whether you are a coach, a volunteer, or someone looking to become a referee, the Introduction to Officiating course will ensure you:
- Have an understanding of how soccer is conducted through the eyes of a referee
- Know and apply the mechanics and signals that referees use in a game
