USYS University Launches the Developing Quality Relationships with Youth Athletes Course‍

June 8, 2023

US Youth Soccer and etrainu have today launched the Developing Quality Relationships with Youth Athletes course on the USYS University.

Relationships play a crucial role in sports coaching, as they not only impact athlete development and team performance, but also contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of coaches, players, and guardians. This course provides coaches with tangible ways to support players and build relationships with players and guardians. These are the skills that help create a fun, safe and engaging environment which ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone!

The course runs through a few key topics. It explores the importance of relationships in coaching, specifically the relationships between adolescent players, coaches and players and coaches and parents. This course also dives into how to develop positive group dynamics and how to avoid negative conflict and exclusion.

The developing quality relationships with youth athletes course is accessible as self paced learning through the USYS University premium library. Users can sign up to USYS University here for free and pay a small, $5 per year subscription for access to the premium library.
